We just love these two and we’re so excited for their Long Boat Key Club wedding this fall! :)
We are so excited to have been a part of Every Last Detail Blog’s 5th Blogiversary Celebration! Lauren of ELD asked V-List members (which we are honored to be V-List members) to collaborate and use elements from her brand to create inspiration shoots for brides – so we teamed up with one of our friends and faves, Kelly of Kelly Hancock Event Planning to create this inspiration shoot!
It all started with the silhouettes from ELD’s logo and we ran from there. Since we are in Southwest Florida a large majority of the weddings we photograph are on the beach with palm trees – so we wanted to inspire Florida brides to see beyond that. How could we bring a Napa Valley vineyard/barn wedding to Florida? That was our goal!! It needed to be elegant, organic, and classic without going rustic at all.
From Kelly: “The point of inspiration shoots is to give real couples ideas that they can incorporate into their own wedding day and I truly think we achieved that with this shoot. We took a farm in Florida and were able to achieve the feel of a Napa winery. We chose a color palette of white and gray with a little bit of gold trim on the dishes and stuck to natural elements for decor and details. The dress from The White Magnolia was perfection with its delicate tulle and illusion top. It fit our vision perfectly and was lightweight and comfortable for our bride to wear outside. I am obsessed with the invitation suite that The Magnolia Tree Paperie came up with. Not to mention the slate place cards and the bread bag menus! I am a lover of unexpected details and I think those place cards and menu bags fit the bill! She also did an excellent job on our bride and groom signs which we paired with the silhouettes again to carry on that theme. Another favorite detail of mine was the wine and cheese pairing station. Nothing says “Napa” better than local wine and cheese during cocktail hour. And can I just mention the cake for a second? Hands on Sweets hand painted this beauty and I wanted to take it home. Watercolor cakes are my favorite at the moment and they did an incredible job bringing my vision to life. The table itself might be my absolute favorite element of this shoot. Taylormade Floral and Event Decor did an outstanding job (as always!) and Kate Ryan Linens provided the perfect compliment to the florals and the rentals by A Chair Affair. Those french country chairs were a must on Tiffany’s list for this shoot and A Chair Affair came through for us in the best way. I am so thankful because they really are perfection!”
So enjoy the inspiration from this shoot and to see more head over to Every Last Detail blog!!

You may have noticed we’ve been a bit more quiet than usual here at Hunter Ryan. Well THIS is why! We’re patientely, ok – scratch that – NOT patiently on my part (get this baby out!!) waiting the arrival of our second child right now. We’re over the moon elated to be welcoming a little boy into our family soon. Like as in any day now – yup – patiently waiting – lol! :)
So in the meantime, I’ve been in full on nesting mode. Spending an entire day freezer cooking up a storm to have meals when he arrives, cleaning like a crazed lady, folding and sorting little tiny baby clothes and of course – preparing the nursery!!
It was super hard for me to describe what “theme” I was going with when friends and family asked. So it ended up sounding like some crazy idea that I’d try to explain as “vintage – ish with modern patterns in all grey and white, some touches of natural wood here and there – but no real color – oh and bunnies – lots of cozy and vintage bunnies.” Um yeah – that’s my theme. I wish I was one of those people who could just walk into Babies R Us and say “that one – yup that set right there – baseballs or elephants or whatever” and be satisfied and excited to decorate my nursery. But unfortunately/fortunately (depending on the day) I’m just not. The creative in me – just has to – well – create! So I hadn’t seen anything on Pinterest that wow’d me – so I came up with “vintage-ish modern patterns in all grey and white with bunnies!” It was a crazy idea I saw in my head and I am so happy it actually all came together!
I picked a bed sheet here, a blanket there, a changing pad cover custom off etsy, made almost 100% of the decor myself – from Goodwill to JoAnn’s to Craigslist (including my little attempt at calligraphy), had an amazingly talented friend crochet/knit the entire mobile custom for me, sewed the valences, found the rocker on craigslist and upcycled it myself – along with the dresser, crib and changing table. All upcycled stuff we DIY’d. I just knew I wanted it to be personal – so I poured my heart into it. The biggest things I knew I wanted were: a funky “gallery wall,” a custom mobile with crocheted animals and a funky upcycled (and comfy) rocker. I’m no designer, but I’m really happy with his bright happy little bunny nursery.
While we wait – we wanted to invite you into our little home and share our son’s room – just waiting for him! :)
And as you might have noticed – his name is: ASHER DAVID!!!! It’s very special to us – it means “blessed beloved.” The name David is also after his late grandfather – my daddy! :) And I hope he looks like a mini-Cody.
Two Words : Geronimo Balloons!!
OH. MY. WORD. These two had the cutest first look at The Ritz-Carlton Sarasota. Erik hid behind giant geronimo balloons as Michelle peeked under – and they caught their first glimpse of one another. Cutest thing ever!!! The four of us had so much fun playing around with the balloons and enjoying the amazingly gorgeous weather over at The Sarasota Yacht Club. Their whole day was absolutely perfect and we were honored to capture it for them!!!
Congratulations Dr. and Mrs!!!!

This might be one of our favorite inspiration shoots we’ve ever done. Um, and we’ve had to wait to share it with the world since February – I’ve been DYING!!! While we love shooting weddings and engagements – this was just so different for us – it was just really fun to do something new!! The whole shoot was meticulously planned by Kelly of Kelly Hancock Event Planning. Her vision was to have an inspiration shoot for brides revolving around her “Besties” – her bridesmaids – and honoring them, all while infusing Pantone’s 2014 Color of the Year – Radiant Orchid! Kelly assembled an amazing team of local vendors – even down to the models dresses – to make this vision a reality!
The real gem of the whole shoot was that our models are 2 sets of real life besties- and I’m beyond blessed to say that Kelly has quickly become one of mine too (what an amaing blessing)! The “bride” is getting married in November and our “maid of honor” is her actual maid of honor and best friend. The other two models/best friends had one getting married this past May, with the other as her MOH and then in November they switch roles and the May bride becomes the Matron of Honor. How fun is that for a real life “Besties Bridesmaids” shoot!? The laughs, joy and smiles we all shared were so genuine and the authenticity of “Besties” was carried throughout the whole day. And then of course at the end of the shoot we did what besties do – we continued to laugh and chat and ate up all those cupcakes! :)
Without this creative team – this shoot would never have been possible. Much love & thanks goes out to:
